Opening of Onehunga’s Gow Langsford Gallery

Exterior of the Gow Langsford Gallery

Today saw the launch of Onehunga’s newest attraction, and a wonderful investment in the arts and culture community, with the opening of the new Gow Langsford gallery.

New Zealand’s largest private, contemporary art space, the location is close to the shores of the Manukau Harbour, in a building originally commissioned by cosmetics mogul and arts patron, Helena Rubenstein.

Thank you to John Gow, Gary Langsford and Anna Jackson for choosing Onehunga for this honour. It was a genuine privilege to visit the gallery for the first time and see the investment made for the betterment of arts.

The first exhibition in the new Onehunga gallery is called This Must be the Place and showcases artwork that navigates the history and experience of Aotearoa and Oceania.

New Gow Langsford Gallery

From today, the Gow Langsford Gallery can be found on the corner of George Terrace and Princes Street and will be open Thursday-Saturday or by private appointment.
