2022 to close with a variety of community events!

Congratulations on making it to spring of 2022. What a year it’s been! I’m happy to say that the Business Association is making plans for our regular events to return this season and there is a variety planned.

Local body elections are underway and, as we did in 2019, our next Business Networking Breakfast, scheduled for 7 September, will focus on local candidates and their position on supporting business. Each local board and councillor candidate will have up to 5 minutes to make a pitch. Register for this free event soon as spaces are limited.

Early in October, the Heritage Festival returns to Onehunga. A variety of events are planned for the two weeks including a scavenger hunt and some talks.

Launched in 2020, Music on the Mall is arranged for 4-8pm on Saturday 29 October. This year, we are intending the close Onehunga Mall between Arthur and Church Streets and hosting a couple of music areas and a silent disco. We are working with our hospitality venues to have a dining area and enjoy the evening entertainment suitable for the whole family.

Rounding off 2022 is the Onehunga Christmas Parade. Yes, it is time to start thinking about Christmas. Registrations are now open for participants in the parade and after a year off it is going to be great to celebrate our diverse community. Scheduled for Saturday 3 December, this year’s theme is Candyland and will be hosted by TVNZ breakfast host and local Indira Stewart.

Learn more about any of the upcoming events at our website: www.onehunga.nz and we look forward to catching up soon.
