What's happening in the town centre this June

Over the month of June if you spend $40 in one of our participating retailers then you will receive a voucher for a cup of coffee on us in one of Onehunga’s fine cafes and bakeries.

Launched in 2020, this promotion supports Onehunga’s local economy to keep thriving and introduces people to new spots that they may not have visited before. We have a great range of retail both on Onehunga Mall and in Dress-Smart so please keep shopping locally.

Thanks to everyone for their support of the Culinary Crawl last month. We received a great response to tickets going on sale with them selling out in eight days. There are plans to hold it again in 2022 so we may need to extend to more than one night to meet demand – a great problem to face.

Onehunga town centre also has a new mural on Princes Street thanks to the Transpower Community Care fund. Created by Oxy Art’s Bobby Macdonald, the piece highlight’s some of Onehunga’s great places of interest. Art is such a fabulous way to make our community more beautiful and connected.

In other news, the blue laneway connecting the Mall to Upper Municipal place has just been repainted and Panuku is installing poster holders so there will be more frequent changes to this space. The existing former Onehunga Club wall will remain status quo as they are due to demolish the building later this year.

As winter sets in please take the opportunity to explore the town centre and support local in Onehunga.
