Election fever is hitting Onehunga

It is coming up to election time and the billboards are going up. This can feel overwhelming and confusing especially with the two referendums being considered at the same time.

To help you in your quest for quality information, the Onehunga Business Association has invited some of the local MP candidates to come and join us at our next Business Networking Breakfast on 2 September.

This session will be focussed exclusively on business in Onehunga. We would like to better understand how our main political parties will support small to medium business over the next three years. Also, if we need to return to lockdown again (fingers crossed this does not occur!) how the different parties will look to support town centres like ours.

If you are interested in attending this breakfast, then head to our website and visit the events page to book a space: www.onehunga.net.nz/events.

If your interests are in more general election information then a debate is being organised at St Peter’s Church on 27 August at 7pm. Facilitated by local journalist Tim Wilson, the candidates will be asked about the key issues affecting our community. No need to book to come to this but if you have any enquiries then please email: admin@stpetersonehunga.org.nz.

Another event for your calendar is Onehunga’s first Culinary Crawl on 17 October. Hosted as part of ATEED’s Elemental AKL Festival, you can buy a ticket and experience a four-course progressive dinner plus enjoy some great entertainment out on Onehunga Mall. More details can be found on our website: www.onehunga.net.nz.
