Visiting by car

Onehunga is one of the last central Auckland suburbs to offer free parking!

You can get several hours of parking between Onehunga Mall and Selwyn Street in the town centre and there are many 30 minute car parks available on Onehunga Mall:

  • Gerrard Beeson Place and Waiapu Lane (between Arthur and Church Streets, in front of Countdown)
  • Lower Municipal Street (between Arthur and Pearce Streets, behind the Onehunga Library and Community Centre)
  • Waller Street car park 

Dress-Smart provides shoppers with excellent on-site parking options and there is more available on around Arthur/Galway Streets and Paynes Lane.

Airport & SH20 Access

From Onehunga Mall, Auckland International Airport is about 15 minutes drive away.

Visiting by bike

If you are planning to cycle to Onehunga, bike parking is available at the following locations:

  • On Arthur Street outside of Onehunga Cafe.
  • On Church Street outside of Westpac.
  • On Onehunga Mall outside of BNZ, Ministry of Social Development, Parkin & Payne Ltd, Onehunga Books & Stationery, Onehunga Family Pharmacy, Sewing Machine World, Logo Factory Onehunga, Onehunga Police Station, Cash Traders, Look Sharp, Onehunga Club, ANZ, Onehunga Roasts, Scotty's Accommodation, Bread n Butter Bakery.

Public Transport

Trains to Onehunga

The Onehunga Line links our town centre directly by train to Britomart in downtown Auckland via Ellerslie and Newmarket.

Buses to Onehunga

Onehunga is very well serviced by buses to many parts of Auckland. The main bus stop for buses to and from Onehunga's town centre is located on Upper Municipal Place, alongside the Onehunga Community Centre and Library at 83 Church Street.
