Governance: The OBA Committee

The OBA is incorporated under the Societies Act 1908 and is governed according to its constitution. It is governed by a committee comprising 5 to 9 elected OBA members and a representative of the Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board.

The OBA’s committee sets strategy, approves budgets, ensures that member funds are properly invested towards meeting OBA objectives, and ensures that OBA management meets greed performance objectives. They hold 11 monthly meetings at the OBA office (there is no meeting in January), and an Annual General Meeting is held around September/October each year, at which time a new committee is elected by the members.

The elected Committee votes itself a President, a Vice President, and appoints a member as Treasurer.
